How Avermont processes your personal information under POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013).
Who we are
Avermont (Pty) Ltd is a private fiduciary practice in South Africa.
What we collect
Names, contact details, identity numbers, and case-specific information necessary to administer the matter you instruct us on. We collect only what is reasonably required (POPIA § 10).
How we use it
To carry out our fiduciary mandate, comply with FICA, the Estates Act, the Pension Funds Act, and applicable tax legislation. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
For the period mandated by the Master of the High Court, FICA, and the South African Revenue Service — typically five to seven years after the matter closes.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by us. Contact our Information Officer at info@avermont.co.za.
